RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline right here at etrailer, and today, we're gonna be taking a look at how the RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Out Bike Rack fits on the 2021 Dodge Durango. So the AfterParty is gonna be a dual-wheel mount rack with a high weight capacity for heavy electric bikes. It's pretty much the same as the RockyMounts Guide Rail, but it has an extra feature which is that this can swing out towards the passenger side. Now some things on the Durango, especially with this hitch receiver, is that this is gonna have a lot of height compared to other bike racks. So if you do have a 60-pound bike, that's something you have to consider is that you have to lift that up and onto this rack. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Dodge Durango- Video
Hey there, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Inno Tire Hold HD two bike platform rack for your heavy electric bikes and we'll see how it fits here on our 2021 Dodge Durango. So the HD is gonna be really good for those heavy bikes with a weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike. Awesome, very impressive. Now for a Durango though, there are some things you're gonna have to consider with this vehicle. The first one is that it's gonna be really high up off the ground, so I highly recommend grabbing the Inno Tire Hold ramp that's sold separately, add-on accessory that instead of having to lift the bikes up and onto the rack, you can then just ramp them down. The second thing is that your tilt away functions you do lose out on with this car. more

Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi, Matt here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Yakima FullTilt Bike Rack on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. One of the main features that sets this hanging style bike rack from the other ones is it has the potential to carry five bikes at one time, each at 40 pounds and a maximum of 150 pounds. And since it makes contact with the bike rack, it's not gonna be compatible with carbon frame bike racks or alternative frame bike racks. And since its weight capacity is only 40 pounds, it will not be compatible with e-bikes either. Now if you do have an alternative style bike or a child's bike, we do have these adapter bars that make them compatible with the hanging frames. You do have these adjustable clips that keep your bikes in place. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi Matt here with the etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. This rack is capable of holding four bikes, 35 pounds each, has three straps, one on each tire and one on the frame. This is gonna prevent it from being carbon frame friendly, and it's not gonna be E-bike friendly either. Something we did notice about this bike rack is when we had our bike in this first spot here, the handle bars actually made contact with the back of the windshield, just barely, so we decided to move it on to this second rack here. And this is about a 29 inch handlebar length, so if you do have any bikes that are 29 and longer, I'd keep 'em on the third, the second rack and up. Now if you have any ones that have shorter lengths, I'd say they would fit here. more

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi Matt here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat NV Base on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. Since our Kuat NV Base is a premium bike rack, it has the ability to tilt back. So all we'll have to do is press down on this lever and let it tilt back, kind of cradling the back end. Now we'll have access to our back hatch. Now keep in mind that we do have 29" handlebars, and that barely makes clearance. So if you have anything wider, I'd definitely put that on the other rack back here. more

Hi, Matt here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 on the 2022 Dodge Durango. This is a platform-style bike rack capable of holding two bikes, 35 pounds each, has three points of contact, one on each tire, and one in the center on the frame. What this means, is it's not gonna be e-bike friendly, because it won't be able to hold that much weight, or it won't be carbon frame friendly, because it's attached directly to the frame. A neat function with this bike rack as well, is gonna be this padded strap. So what's nice about this, is it rotates and adjusts up and down. So overall, that's gonna be really nice for if you have an alternative frame bike, it's gonna fit even kid bikes as well. more

Our two main points of contact are going to be these ratcheting lever arms, one for the front tire and one for the back tire. And what those two things basically mean together is that our heavier electric E-bikes, our carbon frame bikes and our alternative frame bikes are all going to work with this platform, which is really nice that we can carry a big variety of bikes that cannot only help suit your car but also whatever bike that you have. The GuideRail does also have a tilt away feature where we're just going to pull the lever located at the bottom of the rack and then slowly tilt it down allowing us that full hatch access. more

Plus, it has that unique goalpost design that makes it easier to load and unload your bikes. Plus, it takes up less space when in the compact position. The downside, though, for our Durango is because you have a larger hatch and the transfer doesn't really tilt that far down, you won't be able to fully open it up. Now the Curt Premium, like I said, is a hanging style bike rack that is going to be weight rated for 180 pounds. So you can divide that up however you would like amongst different bikes. Because we are holding onto them by their frame, that means our carbon frame bikes unfortunately are not gonna be a great fit for this. How's it going everyone Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Hitch Bike Rack and we're gonna see how it fits on our 2021 Dodge Durango. It's gonna be a great entry level way to get up to four bikes where you need 'em to go. The Destination 4 will be a platform style bike rack which means it's gonna hold our bike up by the tires here down at the bottom and it's capable of supporting four bikes up to 35 pounds a piece. Primarily gonna hold onto them with this rotating padded clamp here on our center mast. So it does make frame contact and we recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes. It could potentially damage them while we're driving but because we can slide up and down that center mast a little bit and the pads do rotate 180 degrees, then we should be able to accommodate a bunch of different alternative frame style bikes We also have our secondary points of contact being the straps down, one at the front and one at the back wheel. more

This is a great bike rack to use to transport your bikes of up to 45 pounds each bike. We have a frame mount that is going to make your loading a lot easier and secure. That being said, if you have a carbon frame style bike, this might not be the rack for you. It's gonna be made out of a steel construction, so it's gonna be very durable and last you a long time, it's also finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. One of the cool features about this rack is the tilt-away feature, there is a lever back here that you pull and gently lower down, and that way, we can access our hatch, grab our helmets and our waters, whatever we need for our bike ride. more

Hey guys. Today, we have chosen a '16 Dodge Durango and we're going to test out the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2-Bike Platform Rack.Now, this is going to be able to haul of the two bikes to and from the trails. It's going to have a great way of securing your bike that's kind of, it's more secure in my opinion than a lot of other bike racks out there. You can see as I'm shaking it, it's just not really moving independently from the bike rack.Our first two points of contact are going to be down here on these hook and loop straps to securing the wheels into their wheel case but really what's securing the bike most is this padded frame hook putting downward force on top of the bike, forcing it down into it's trays. It's got that nice rubber padding that's going to help protect it from, protect your bike frame from any type of scratches or abrasions.Now, let's go ahead and take the bike off and take a closer look. Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Dodge Durango, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Inno Aero Light 4 bike rack, for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. That part number is INH640. Now let's take a closer look at some of the features while we have a bike installed. So right here we're going to see we have a cable lock, an integrated cable lock I should say. We just go and wrap around the frame of your bikes, and then you can insert it into that notch right there. It's going to provide a nice secure feature for your bikes, so that no one can remove them. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2017 Dodge Durango we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Rack, part number: S64683. Now we're all been in that situation where we just got done riding our bikes, or going ready to ride our bikes, and we need to get in the back of our hatch. That's the one feature I really like about this bike rack is if we come to this lever right here, we can lift up and our bike rack will actually tilt away from our vehicle, and then we can have full access to get anything in or out of our rear hatch that we may need. And then when we're done we can simply close our hatch and then rotate the bike rack back up, and it'll lock into position. We're gonna have three points of contact. We're gonna have a frame hook up top here, and then one strap on each one of our wheels. Now the way the straps are gonna come undone, if we come to the back side there's gonna be a lever, you can push on it and that's gonna release the ratcheting mechanism, and then you just pull the strap out. more

Today on our 2008 Dodge Durango we're doing a test fit of the Softride Element Parallelogram hanging-style 4-bike rack. That part number is SR26248. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you one of the key features others rack. Now this is one of the only racks that is a hanging-style that can tilt away from our vehicle with our bikes loaded. We're going to pull out on our black t-pin on the side, and we're able to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2008 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2008 Dodge Durango we're doing a test fit of the Tulle Vertex spring-away style of and hanging style for bike rack. That part number is TH9031XT. We already have our bike secured down, first I'm going to show you the main feature of this rack and it's going to be our swing-away feature. Going to start off by removing our T-pin here on the end and we'll save that for later. Going to undo our screw here at the back, want to loosen that completely so that it hangs loosely just like so. We'll pull up on our T-pin here and rotate our bike rack out. When it's about halfway, I'll rotate the front portion so the T-pin inserts into the bracket on the back and I'll keep rotating it out. We want to line up our pinholes here and we'll insert our pin. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2008 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2008 Dodge Durango, we're doing a test fit of the Swagman XC2 platform style 2 bike rack. That part number is S64650. We already have our bike secured down, so we're first going to show you how we secure it in place. You'll notice we have 2 wheel cradles holding our tires in place, then we have our frame hook, so we're going to have 1 point of contact here that's going to hold that down onto our wheel cradles. To release that, we're just going to squeeze in on the gray button there and lift straight up. Then we'll be able to take our bike off, and we can set it off to the side. One great thing about our wheel cradles here is that they are actually adjustable. You can just loosen up the thumb screws and adjust those how you need to. I'll take a few measurements. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Dodge Durango- Video
Today, on our 2014 Dodge Durango, we'll be doing a test fit on the Kuat NV 2.0 Platform Style 2 Bike Rack. That's Part Number NV22G. I've already got it loaded up on the Durango just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to work with our bike. it actually secures our bikes into spots. We have this large wheel hook going over our front wheel and putting down pressure into our front wheel cradle. Then we have a rear wheel strap going over our wheel and securing down into the ratchet there. All in all, no from contact with this bike rack. more
